Argonne
Champagne

ORIGIN: Champagne, França

VARIETIES: 90% Pinot Noir – 10% Chardonnay

VINIFICATION: Vinified and raised in new barrels from the Argonne Forest. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests for a year in oak barrique, and later 7 more years in the bottle. It is one of the sparkling wines from Champagne produced with the best grapes from the 2012 harvest.

VINEYARD: Argonne shelters the fusion between the vine and the forest, from these two great historic terroirs on which Champagne and its aura were built in the 18th century. This cuvée relates the symbiosis between Aÿ wine and the Argonne forest, from which large oak trees were used to age all Champagne wines until the mid-20th century.

Tasting Notes The Argonne 2012 is the most important Cuvée Prestige of the Maison and can be considered an evolution of the multi vintage Fût de Chêne, the result of an assemblage of the two varieties, from the best vineyards in Ay. Superb structure and complexity, this Champagne Brut presents intense, full, complex, elegant and mineral. Each bottle is numbered and contained in a beautiful wooden box with a dedication. To make it even better, a “brace” closes the cork. Enclosed within, a bottle also embossed with gold leaf. Henri Giraud Argonne 2012, is in the top 10 of the best champagnes tasted in 2020 by the renowned Decanter magazine.
