ORIGIN: Pocinho, the sub region of Douro Superior.
VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Tinto Cão.
HARVEST: Manual harvest, and the grapes transported in boxes of 14kg.
VINIFICATION: Cooling the grapes in a cold room for 24H to 8oC. Manual selection on a sorting table, followed by destemming and crushing to the traditional stone tanks, where the grapes are trodden by foot. Fermentation with controlled temperature. It aged for 18 months in new french oak barrels.
WINEMAKERS: Pedro Branco
HARMONIZATION: Ideal with red meat, hunting dishes and ripened cheese.
Tasting Notes: Ruby color. Aroma of red fruits, citus ladanifer, and notes of spices, in a perfect balance with smoked notes. In the mouth it is complex, structured, rich in soft tannins, and with a long and fresh finish. Alcohol content (% VOL.): 14%.
